Abstract: The authors introduce the principle of the active clamped resonant DC link inverter. Equivalent circuit and typical waveforms are illustrated. By analyzing the process of the inversion, the control strategy of resonant switch and clamped switch modulation with current hysteresis control is discussed. The inverter owes the advantages of low switching loss ,good regulation performance and small distortion, it can be widely used in the situation of inverter. Meanwhile the authors design an inverter which output power is 6kW and resonant frequency is 500KHz. Simulation results verifying the principle of operation are presented and backed up by experiments. Keywords: Clamped ,Resonant DC link, Soft-switching,Discrete Pulse Modulation
