Abstract A design proposal for high speed data acquisition system is described. Advantech PCI-1714 is used as the hardware platform of the system. Under he drive and control of programs developed with Microsoft Visual C++, the I/O operations of PCI-1714 is performed, which makes high speed data acquisition, data transfer and data storage available. The system can be widely used in many applications and it has good commonality as well as extensibility.
