Abstract: An overview on the principle and characteristics of energy scavenging (energy
harvesting) is given. The principle and the critical technology of the usage of solar cell are
analyzed in detail. The challenge induced with the refreshed energy supply for the hardware
design and the protocols of the network is described and the newly solutions is surveyed. The future research directions is summarized.

Abstract: An overview on the principle and characteristics of energy scavenging (energy
