Tell me about your research for which you are using the Mx3005P. For the past 7 years our area of research has focused on the mechanisms that control DNA repair, using S. pombe as a model organism. We use real time PCR on the Mx3005P to quantify the amount of protein-bound DNA after immuno- precipitation. We mainly look at the recruitment of specific DNA repair proteins to known DNA target sequences, namely telomeres, centromeres, DNA nicks and replication fork pause sites. ChIP comprises about 85% of the work we do on the Mx3005P, whilst the remaining proportion of our work is dedicated to gene expressiona.
