信息技术(IT)的发展使电力企业有机会采用更多的IT产品，以增强竞争力。然而如何选择正确的IT产品及其应用方案是提高效率的关键，否则会浪费大量的人力和财力资源。文章介绍IT在电厂过程控制、传感器和终端控制元件、状态监测等方面的应用及最新进展，以及Web在电厂中的作用。

Abstract: The explosion in information technologies gives power producers a vast list of robust tools to pick from in the drive toward competitiveness. However, the key to improve the productivity and benefits is to select the right IT tools includingITproductsandtheirapplicationschemes. Iftherighttoolsaren誸 selectedorproperlyapplied, we誰lwastealarge amount of human resources and money. This paper describes the newest IT applications in process controls, sensors and final-controlelements, conditionmonitoringaswellaswebstationsinpowerplants.
