Abstract：This article discusses a design of an embedded video server system based on MPEG-4, including the image compress，storage architecture，communication system and operation system . One system is used to compress images, and one of the four system is used to memory. The system also provides a straight channel to transmit information. We can recall the broadcasted programs. People put forward some new requests for VOD, so we present some items which should be noticed.
