锂电池长期以来被认为是军用战场上便携式设备的最佳电源。虽然专业级的军用一级锂电池不容易用于商业用途,但也有一些商用级单元被指定以满足极端温度的要求,可用于类似坚固的应用场合。从塔迪兰电池TL系列就是一个例子。
However, rechargeable lithium batteries are now becoming more viable as power densities have increased and costs reduced. A key advantage is that they can be recharged from a variety of power sources, including portable and wearable solar panels and other energy-harvesting sources.
Power management is a critical issue in such applications, and military systems tend to use switching DC/DC conversion technology based on a buck-boost topology. These power management techniques are eminently transferable to commercial systems requiring battery charging by exploiting energy harvesting. Typical solutions include Linear Technology’s LTC3127 DC/DC buck-boost converter and LTC3105 DC/DC converter, and Texas Instruments’ extended temperature range REG71050DDCT switched capacitor voltage converter and BQ24650 battery charge controller.
