This design note describes the design and operating
characteristics of a 112 W Boost Converter based on the
CS51227 Enhanced Voltage Mode PWM Controller. The
design discussed herein converts an input voltage range of
10–18 VDC to 28 VDC at an output current of 4.0 A.
• 1.0 MHz Frequency Capability
• Low Voltage Start–Up
• Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO)
• Low Start–Up Current
• Thermal Shutdown
• 1.0 A Source/Sink Gate Drive
• Pulse by Pulse Current Limiting with Leading Edge Blanking
• Programmable Volt–Second Clamp
