Abstract: In this paper the advantages and disadvantages are compared between traditional
CCD image sensors and recently developing CMOS image sensors. The key techniques for CMOS image sensor are discussed. The current situation of the developing CMOS image sensor is summarized at home and abroad. Finally the developing orientations of CMOS image sensors are discussed.
