In general, a Hot Swap controller provides two importantfunctions to boards that can be plugged and unpluggedfrom a live backplane:
• It limits the potentially destructive inrush currentwhen a board is plugged in.
• It acts as a circuit breaker, with the maximumcurrent and maximum time at that current factoredinto the breaker function.
