XML/RDF在图书馆元数据MARC中的应用描述

目前图书馆广泛存在的MARC数据格式是经过严格限定和检验的数据流格式，无法通过Internet浏览和检索，严重制约了这些数据的利用。本文提出采用基于XML/RDF技术的MARC元数据描述方法，为现有的大量存在的MARC书目数据库与Internet上其它非书目数据库的信息集成成为可能，解决了专用的MARC数目数据向机器可理解的通用的元数据转换的问题。

Abstract: In this paper, considering the large amount of MARC metadata in numerous library systems, we present the MARC metadata description approach based on XML/RDF. We mainly solve the problems on the MARC metadata description based on XML and RDF respectively. It enables the possibility of the conversion from the MARC specific format
metadata to the general machine-readable and machine-understandable metadata. The achievements of our research will contribute to thee existing MARC metadata utilization in digital library in the future.
