HammerCores by Altera White Paper,Logarithm Function
The Hammercores by Altera® logarithm function is a high-performance, algorithmic, programmable logic core,
which can compute logarithms with bases 2, 10, and e. It can operate in a single cycle, or with a five-stage pipeline,
and is capable of calculating 100 million logarithms per second.
The core is optimized for Altera FLEX® 6000, FLEX 8000, FLEX 10K, and APEX™ 20K devices, and requires no
memory resources for implementation.
Parameters and Ports
The logarithm function top level design file is called LOGF.TDF. Table 1 shows the parameters. Table 2 shows the
input signals.
