In 2002 Agilent was the first to provide an oscilloscope with the low intrinsic jitter necessary to accurately view 40 Gb/s signals. The 86100 in conjunction with the 86107A Precision Timebase became the de facto standard for 40 Gb/s R&D. As such systems are now beginning to make their way from the lab to production; the new 86116C performs as a reference receiver that allows designers, manufacturers and their customers to reliably verify componen and system specifications.
