The OPC Server you will be communicating with must be compliant with the 1.0 standard as a minimum. Support for the 2.0 Standard is available with 4.01 SP10 to the latest versions.
Before you begin:
1. Make sure you have properly installed and tested your OPC Server to verify that you do in fact have a functioning system and it works as intended. 2. Read and review the manuals (GFK-1675 – Section 4-13) / Help Files (Open Interface- >Cimplicity OPC Server->Using the Cimplicity HMI OPC Server User Interface->Cimplicity HMI OPC Server and DCOM) for the recommended OPC Server and Client DCOM* 1 settings. Although part of this manual is designed around the Cimplicity HMI OPC Server, it should still be applicable to most other vendor‟s OPC Servers. DCOM plays a large part in proper communication between an OPC Client and Server. If these settings are incorrect you may not be able to properly establish communications.
