The XGATE module allows a new approach toimplementing device drivers on the S12X family. Sincethe XGATE is fully programmable in C, the functionalityof the drivers may range from simple DMA activities tocomplex protocol and data handling. This applicationnote shows how to implement a very simpleinterrupt-driven buffer for the SCI module, andillustrates the three steps required to configure theXGATE to service the peripheral interrupts.
