Design of Realization of Animation On Virtual Assembly Engine of Engineering Structures Zhang Wei Yang XinHua Wei Shuang (Institute of Engineering Computing and Simulation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430074, China) Abstract: To simulate the assembly process of engineering structures, an assembly engine called OpenWorld is designed and realized. In this paper, the entity hierarchy modeling and model supporting system in this engine are discussed. A new rendering mode is put forward, which divides the whole scene into two parts: the world scene and isolated scenes, and a set of editable XML tags about animation are designed. The virtual assembly software using this engine can give a successful instruction on equipment assembly and reduce errors in the assembly process.
