Design and Simulation of Shortwave Radio Based On Simulink Zhang Yan Li ShuQing (Department of Physics,Jining Techers’ College, Jining,Shandong,273155,China) Abstract:Shortwave communication has been one of the most important method of long distance communication. And the high speed data transmission by shortwave has also been a great topic for research in the field of Digital Communications. This paper focuses on some technical difficulties encountered in shortwave channel and tackles the task by applying Turbo code and OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) techniques in the shortwave radio. At the same time, the pilot-assisted method has been used to estimate the channel and compensate the signal. This hence improves the overall system performance by overcoming the effects like mufti-path fading and Doppler spread and reduces the Bit Error Rate(BER) effectively. At last, the design of the system model and simulation are done based on simulink. Key words:OFDM;Shortwave Radio;Channel Estimation
