(School of Information Engineering, Shenyang Institute of Chemical Technology, Shenyang, 110142, China) Abstract: ZigBee is a kind of new technology which is designed for short-distance, low-rate and low-power wireless communication and is widely used in many fields. The paper mainly introduced the characteristic of ZigBee technology and its application of environmental monitoring and personnel positioning in the mine. Critical problems that appear in the application of ZigBee technology in the mine were also introduced, including the constructing of positioning network, constructing the wireless identity code of mobile object and locating the mobile object.
