The MAX16126/MAX16127 load-dump/reverse-voltageprotection circuits protect power supplies from damaginginput voltage conditions, including overvoltage,reverse-voltage, and high-voltage transient pulses. Usinga built-in charge pump, the devices control two externalback-to-back n-channel MOSFETs that turn off andisolate downstream power supplies during damaginginput conditions, such as an automotive load-dump pulseor a reverse-battery condition. Operation is guaranteeddown to 3V to ensure proper operation during automotivecold-crank conditions. These devices feature a flagoutput (FLAG) that asserts during fault conditions.
