The PICmicro™ family of RISC microcontrollers has
been designed to provide advanced performance and a
cost-effective solution for a variety of applications. This
application note provides examples which illustrate the
uses of input capture using the PIC17C42 Timer3 module.
These examples may be modified to suit the specific
needs of an application.
This application note has 4 examples that use the
Timer3 input capture. They are:
• Frequency Counter (Period Measurement)
• Frequency Counter (Period Measurement) using a
Free Running Timer
• Pulse Width Measurement
• Frequency Counter (Period Measurement) with
Input Prescaler
