I. INTRODUCTION In recent years, there has been a growing interest in PIFA in the communication industry, especially for telephone handsets. PIFA are low-profile microstrip antennas that resonate at less than a quarter wavelength. In this paper㸪a novel PIFA is presented based on RFID reader employed in mobile devices in UHF frequency band which is 920~925MHz in China. At present, the research of PIFA focuses on miniaturization, multi-band, broad band. However, the normal PIFA can not satisfy the requirement of both miniaturization and frequency band. Size reduction is often accompanied by adverse changes such as a narrow bandwidth and low antenna efficiency. In addition, the required frequency band 920~925MHz can not be reached with a normal PIFA. While in this paper a PIFA with slots on the radiating patch will be investigated.
