Designers have looked to
time-domain response
characteristics to determine the
accuracy of high-performance
oscilloscopes and probes for
reproducing the signal present
at the probe tip. Yet these
characteristics can be misleading
if not interpreted correctly.
This application note will
show measurements of the
time-domain response of the
Agilent Technologies InfiniiMax
probes and 54855A 20GSa/s
real-time oscilloscopes. We will
also introduce a new technique
for accurately characterizing
the time-domain response of
oscilloscope probes.
