Abstract: This paper introduces a principle to compensate the screw pitch error
processed in CNC machine tools, as well as a system to measure the screw pitch error
based on laser interferometer. Apart from that, the problems and solutions which may
be met in measuring the screw pitch error are also presented, and at last, the scope in
which the compensation method can be used in discussed.
