Abstract: The perceived contrast ratio of a cell phone LCD display can be improved by using dynamic LED backlightingfor enhanced video viewing. This application note describes how to add instantaneous pulse-width modulation (PWM)intensity control to an existing LED driver, using the MAX6948B as an example.
