  Field Oriented Control of an IPM

  Field oriented control of an interior permanent magnet machine is presented in this example. A 70 KW IPM designed using MotorSolve BLDC is used as an example here. Presented are a summary of the motor characteristics, the PI control scheme, the integrated system that includes the motor model for SIMULINK® (from The Mathworks, Inc®) and results of some test simulations for controlling the speed of the motor.
