The MAX3108A small form factor universal asynchronousreceiver-transmitter (UART) with 128 words each ofreceive and transmit FIFOs is controlled through a serialI2C or SPI™ controller interface. Auto-sleep and shutdownmodes help reduce power consumption during periods ofinactivity. A low 500FA (max) supply current, 1μA shutdowncurrent, and tiny 25-bump WLP (2.1mm x 2.1mm)package make the device ideal for low-power portabledevices. The device operates from a 1.71V to 3.6V supplyvoltage.
