 The 88EM8041 is a high performance, low-cost with minimum external component count single stage power factorcorrection (PFC) controller for flyback applications. It can be used for a wide variety of universal input PFC flybackconverters for applications including adapters and battery chargers with an output power range up to 150W.The 88EM8041 includes Marvell’s patented mixed mode control (MMC) that ensures the lowest total harmonic distortion(THD) in the industry. The average current control mode (CCM) is also available as an option. The device has multiplewitching frequency options and its soft start is selectable for a variety of applications. The powerful adaptive driverself-adjusting feature allows for flexible application in a wide range of MOSFET sizes, while reducing the electromagneticinterference (EMI).
