An efficient use of power is required to transmit data
from the BTS to a mobile phone:
•The transmission line system must be free of defects.
•Each transmission line imperfection, every connection, and the
antenna itself will reflect some of the generated power back
toward the source.
•Any reflected power will be absorbed by the transmission line
system and source – this is an inefficient use of power.
•The integrity of the transmission line system including the
antenna must be tested.
