The MAX2090 high-linearity analog variable-gain amplifier(VGA) is a monolithic SiGe BiCMOS attenuator,amplifier, and RMS detector designed to interface with50I systems operating in the 50MHz to 1000MHzfrequency range. Either the on-board RMS powerdetector or an external analog control voltage controlsthe analog attenuator. The device features a gain rangeof -11.5dB to +25.5dB, a noise figure of 4dB, OIP3 linearityof +38dBm, and a wide RF bandwidth. Each of thesefeatures makes the device an ideal VGA for numerousreceiver and transmitter applications. In addition, thedevice operates from a single +5.0V supply.This device is available in a compact 20-pin TQFN package(5mm x 5mm) with an exposed pad. Electrical performanceis guaranteed over the extended temperaturerange, from TC = -40NC to +95NC.
