The V•I Chip Bus Converter Module(BCM) is a high efficiency (>96%),narrow input range VoltageTransformation Module (VTM) operatingfrom a pre-regulated 48 Vdc primary bus
to deliver an isolated 12 V secondary forIntermediate Bus Architectureapplications. The BCM may be used topower non-isolated POL converters or asan independent 12 V source. Due to thefast response time and low noise of theBCM, the need for limited life aluminumelectrolytic or tantalum capacitors at theinput of POL converters is reduced—oreliminated—resulting in savings of boardarea, materials and total system cost.
