The MAX8857A PMIC provides a complete power-supplysolution for digital still cameras (DSCs) and digitalvideo cameras (DVCs). The MAX8857A improves performance,component count, and board space utilizationcompared to currently available solutions for 2 AAcell and dual-battery designs. On-chip powerMOSFETs provide up to 95% efficiency for criticalpower supplies. The CCD inverter can operate directlyfrom 2 AA/NiMH batteries without the use of any additionalexternal components.
