Abstract: The pulser designed is mainly used for producing corona plasma in waste water treatment system. Also its application in research on dielectric film electrical properties will be discussed. The pulser consists of a variable DC power source for high voltage supply, two graded capacitors for energy storage and the rotating spark gap used as switches. The key part is the multiple-electrode rotating spark gap switch(MER-SGS), which greatly favors the wide range modulation of pulse repetition rate, long width and short rise time of the pulse, electrical field distortion, recovery of the gap insulation strength, insulation design, the life of the switch, etc. The voltage of the output pulses switched by the MER-SGS is in the order of 1kV-50kV with a pulse rise time of less than 10ns, a pulse duration of 1-500us determined by the load, a pulse repetition rate of 1-2k PPs variable, an energy of 1.25-125 J per pulse and a average power of up to 10-50kW have been achieved. The high-est pulse repetition rate is determined by the highest revolution of the driver motor and the electrodes number of MER-SGS.
