The MAX31785 is a closed-loop multichannel fan controller.Automatic closed-loop fan control saves systempower by operating the fans at the lowest possiblespeeds. Added benefits of slower fan speeds includelower audible noise, longer fan life, and reduced systemmaintenance. Based on a user-programmable lookuptable (LUT), the device automatically adjusts the speedsof the six independent fans based on one or more of the11 available temperature sensors. Alternately, an externalhost can manually command the fan speeds and thedevice automatically adjusts the fan speeds. The devicecontains a fan-health-diagnostic function to help userspredict impending fan failures. The device can alsomonitor up to six remote voltages.
